Apsheronsk is situated at the southern part of Krasnodar Territory in a spur zone of Major Caucasian Ridge. By its geographical location as well as natural and climatic conditions the region is ideally suitable for developing such types of tourism as ecological, educational, landscape, adventure, extreme, culture and ethnic, mountaineering, orienteering, mountain-skiing, hang-gliding, rafting, canyonning, speleo-tourism, hunting and fishing.

At the territory of the region «Kamyshova Polyana» and «Chernogorye» reserves are situated. Primeval forests with abundance of fruit trees, berries, a wide variety of mushrooms, herbs, hunting grounds — a very valuable natural storage, which up to these days is used on a limited basis.

At the submountain part of the region there are plenty of natural reserve territories: Lago-Naki subalpine plateau; incomparable in its beauty Guamskoe gorge with a river canyon and narrow-gauge railroad running at the bottom of the gorge; karst Azishskye caves — an underground world 37 m deep; Samurskoe lake and others. All of these are the attraction for Russian as well as foreign tourists.

The region is famous for its sources of mineral and thermal waters. With their help at the local sanatoriums the diseases of myocardium, vascular, endocrine and nervous systems, respiratory apparatus, musculoskeletal system and many other diseases are treated.
