KRASNODAR CITY

The City of Krasnodar is located at Kubano-Priazovskaya lowland, on right bank of Kuban River, near the man-made sea — the Krasnodar water basin.

It is not only an administrative, industrial, scientific, and cultural center of the whole Krasnodar Region, but also an excellent place for the family and educational leisure.

It is possible to say without any exaggeration, that Krasnodar is one of the greenest cities of Russia. The mild climate, an abundance of vegetation, short winters and the tender southern sun are unusually attractive to the city's visitors.

In the territory of Krasnodar, there are about 80 tourist objects, being highly popular among the excursionists, including the monuments of history, culture, architecture, and the unique nature sanctuaries. The excursion bureau has developed more than ten excursion itineraries.

1. OUR SMALL PARIS

Duration — 3 hours, available all-the-year-round.

It is one of the most interesting city tours. Our small Paris is the second name of Krasnodar City, which was given to it owing to the novel of the same title by V. Likhonosov. By its color, unique atmosphere, luxury of public buildings, number of theatres, restaurants and cozy cafes Krasnodar quite similar to Paris.

2. CHURCHES OF KRASNODAR

Since the olden days, the Kuban Cossacks keep traditions of the orthodox religion. Cathedrals, temples, chapels (Saint-Troitsky, Alexandera Nevskogo, Saint-Ekaterinensky cathedrals, Saint-Ilyinsky, in the name of God's Mother’s "Joy of All Mourners" icon, Saint-Georgievsky temples and others), the worshipers' cross with the names of Cyril and Mefody is also a symbol of Krasnodar. When and why have these monuments been erected, the saints, the icons and other relics of Christianity, the order of divine service, some church holidays and how they were celebrated in the olden times — all of it is a very short list of the issues to be covered by the guide's program.

3. EKATERINODAT — THE CITY OF CASSACKS

Duration — 3 hours, available all-the-year-round.

The history of Krasnodar keeps many dates and names connected with the Kuban Cossacks. At a stone, on the place where Ekaterina's fortress was located, you will hear a story about the first Black Sea Cossacks-immigrants, about the present Kuban Cossack army, while attending the house of ataman Bursak and the army Saint-Troitsky Church, finding out about the destiny of the ancient Cossack relics, about the Kuban Cossack Chorus.

4. CHEERFUL ADVENTURES

Duration — 5-6 hours.

It is a fascinating route full of unforgettable impressions for children and their parents. You will attend the "Safari-Park" and enjoy the greatest collection of exotic animals in the south of Russia, collected from all corners of the planet; you will see a unique "Show of Pinnipeds".

5. RIVER WALKS BY THE KUBAN RIVER

Duration — 1,5 hours, available from April until November.

The first excursion tours by the river of Kuban took place in 1904 on the boat of "Boria", which was at the disposal of the shipping company of Ditsman.

Today you can also enjoy the fascinating travel downstream the Kuban River along the quay, floating by Yubileiny Microdistrict, the Temple of the Navity of Christ up to Rozhdestvensky Park by the steam-ships of "Kuban" and "Don". During a walk by the steam-ship, you will be offered the dishes of the Kuban cuisine in the cafe-restaurant of "Breeze".

The upstream walks by the Kuban River with entering and locking through the Krasnodar water basin were renewed since 2005.
