The biggest part of Caucasian biosphere reserve is situated at the territory of Mostovskoy region. From geographical perspective this zone refers to alpine zone. The highest point of Krasnodar Territory is located in Mostovskoy region — Tsakhvoah Mountain (3345 m). The mountain routes of Mostovskoy region can compete with Swiss Apls by its complexity and beauty. Several years ago Tkhachsky mountain range was included into the lists of the world’s natural heritage — along with Baykal, Valday and Meschersky reserve.

The snow lasts during 4-6 months a year at the mountainsides. There is a mountain-ski track with the height drop of 60 m here. Psebay settlement by the mountains foothills is very popular with fanciers of hang-gliding. Fair sunny weather and the absence of wind enable the hang-gliding flights during 9 months a year.

The region is famous for its archaeological landmarks: the most ancient in all North Caucasus remains of Neanderthal men near Barakaevskaya stanitsa and in Monasheskie ( Monks’) caves of Goubskoe gorge. There are also remains of ancient sites at the outskirts of several stanitsas. In Yatyrgvarta mountain range the petroglyphs were found — the cliff inscriptions and pictures, left by hands of primitive men (III millennium BC).
