MOSTOVSKY AREA The area of Mostovsky is located in the southeast part of Krasnodar Region within 240 km from Krasnodar. It is a corner of Kuban of some very rich nature with more than one thousand places of interest. Very few places can be compared with the area of Mostovsky by its beauty and variety of natural landscapes. The places here are amazingly beautiful and have a tremendous variety of nature — there are both; unique woods, and vast green meadows, the covered with snow tops, as well as the mountain rivers, cascades of waterfalls, and high-mountainous lakes. Each year the area of Mostovsky attracts more and more tourists. 1. THE MOUNTAIN OF BOLSHOY TKACH At the border of Bagovsky rural county and Republic of Adygea, there is a mountain of Bolshoy Tkhach. It is one of the most remarkable tops; its height reaches 2,368 m. From the south, Bolshoy Tkhach resembles with a Gothic medieval castle, being a unique natural complex. In this regard, all sorts of economic activity are forbidden here. The massif of Tkhach, among the few ones in the Northern Caucasus, is included by the International Fund of the Wild Life on the list of the World natural heritage in 1999. 2. GUNKINI CAVES There is a magnificent cascade of Gunkini caves, with a brook passing through them, situated in the area of Psebay-1 (Rvataya Mountain). 3. DOLMENS The most amazing archeological monuments in the area of Mostovsky are the dolmens of Zatsepina Poliana and the dolmens, located on the left bank of Kizinka River. There have been discovered the most ancient remains of Neanderthal men across the whole Northern Caucasus near the settlement of Barakaevskaya, in the Monastic caves of Gubskoу gorge. 4. FOOT ROUTES Duration — 4 days, extent — 80 km. There are tourist routes passing across the area, developed by the Caucasian State Natural Biospheric Reserve: the cordon of «Chernorechie» — the cordon of «Tretia Rota» — the cordon of «Umpyr» on the river of Malaya Laba — a mouth of Chistaya River — Pervaya Aishkho — the cordon of «Poslukh»; the routes across the caves and waterfalls of Nikitino settlement in the valley of Laba River. |
